What have we been doing? What are we doing next? This week really did fly by due to the visit to Madinat. Our children behaved superbly - we were so very proud of them and they very much enjoyed! Back in the classroom - the children continued with the Prince and The Pauper...Majd even bought a copy of the book to continue reading at home! It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm shown towards the text. Within topic the focus was communication - we looked at forms of communication, past and present! Mrs. Quinn set up a fantastic carousel where the children we able to be cave painters, use clay to communicate and even sand...take a look at this video showing the lesson in action - Click here. We used a App called 'Spark' to record this clip - check it out, its fantastic! |
We did not have enough time to use the video from last weeks home learning as a stimulus for writing (The Prince and Pauper was enjoyed so much we extended our learning around this book) this week so we will on Sunday/Monday! We hope you enjoyed watching the video at home with your children! It would be useful if the children could watch again over the weekend.
Following the fun and excitement of our poetry home learning - our home learning over the next three weeks has an element of collaboration. This week the idea is that it is purely to design a flying machine - it doesn't need to fly :-)
If you would like to make this a collaborative effort - in pairs or triads then feel free to do this!
