English
This week we have written our own play scripts for a chapter of the story The Twits. 4B enjoyed acting out the wormy spaghetti chapter and getting into role as the famous Roald Dahl characters. 4B thought carefully about the behaviour, actions and attitudes of each character to help them write their own script and stage directions. Next week we will be starting our new writing genre: persuasive writing. |
Science
In class this week we set up our next scientific experiment around the topic of green plants. We looked in detail at the importance and function of the leaves on a plant. The process of photosynthesis was explored in class and we learnt lots of new scientific vocabulary.
In the lab we started our investigation in to how leaves help a plant to grow. We thought carefully about how we could keep it a controlled and fair test. Most of us predicted that the plant with out leaves will grow less than the plant with leaves. We will be continuing to observe and monitor our plants over the coming weeks.

Topic
In topic this week we continued to look at the rain forest. We used maps and atlases to explore where rain forest are located in the world. After that we started to compare the climate of a rain forest in Brazil with that in Dubai. We found several similarities and differences and presented our information on a venn diagram.
