Dear parents,
Next week the wellbeing department will be organizing a Digital Citizenship Week to discuss how to manage constant internet use while staying safe and responsible. Children from year 3 to 6 will be learning about these important topics through their IT classes. They will also participate in an assembly presentation next Thursday.
Please take the opportunity to attend one of two parent presentations (the same presentation will be repeated to suit as many parents as possible):
‘Raising our children to become digital citizens’- How to help them make safe, responsible and respectful choices online
Tuesday February 3rd from 8 to 9 pm and Wednesday February 4th, 7.45 to 8.45 am
Thank you,
Nadine de Mascarel

English
This week in English we have been learning about the features of persuasive texts and applying this knowledge to plan and compose our own persuasive letters. We wrote our letters to the Pest Control Officer, in a bid to encourage him to do something about the pesky troll!

Topic
In Topic we have been busy working on our class assembly. The children have been learning their scripts and developing their voices and body language skills. We have also used this time to recap the effects of deforestation and learnt about the layers of the rainforest.

Science
In Science this week we learnt about the importance of fertilisers to growing plants. We looked at a variety of plants and determined the nutrients they were missing.
