This Week's Learning
In English we have been learning about dilemas and considered how an author has conveyed an emotion.
In Science the children continued to learn about gases and we recapped the process of the watercycle.
We have continued to learn about volcanoes and how they are formed. We watch a really interesting video presented by a man called Iain Stewart. He absailed into the crater of an active volcano!
We all stuffed ourselves silly today on International Day! We started they day watching the performances. Charlie, Luc and Dana were all seen on stag. Well done! You were very brave to get up in front of everyone. We had a great time visiting all the different stalls. It was so nice to see so many of out parents supporting the event, I know the kids loved seeing you.
Next Week's Learning
Next week we will be making our own volcanoes! Please send in old newspaper for the papermache.
We will also be celebrating National Day on Monday. Please remember to wear National dress or school uniform.
Arts Festival
This year we are completing our Arts Festival Art work before the December break. Our theme will be Rainforests and I have rather ambitiously planned for our class to make sock sloths! If it all works out they'll look great but I will definitely need some support in class. Please let me know if you would like to support a small group with sewing. You will need a basic knowledge of sewing and possibly a sewing machine!
Each child will need a pair of grey or brown men's socks.
We are also hoping to make the corridor look as tropical as possible so it would be great if you could send in an exotic looking plastic flower or some plastic vine. I picked some up from diaso and Lulu's.
Many thanks for your support :)
