Welcome Back.
I hope that everyone enjoyed the Easter break and time to rest before our final term of the year. We have started as we mean to go on with a very busy first week. On Monday, 4B enjoyed the morning competing well in the swimming gala. Each children completed three races using a different swimming stroke each time. It was great to see the children supporting each other and pushing themselves to achieve things outside of the classroom.
Later on Monday we went on our trip to the planetarium. The film we watched taught us many things about life on board a spacecraft and the dangers that astronauts face while working in space. The children we keen to ask questions and explore the information shared in the video. It was a great trip that was thoroughly enjoyed by 4B.
Today, as a whole school, we celebrated Science day. The children dressed as scientists and carried out a range of science experiments for the day, including slinky investigations, slime experiments and making lemonade. The children also had the chance to attend or take part on the JPS leadership program Makers Fair. Children that have taken part in the Leadership enhancement and ASA program during the Sporing term presented their inventions to all children in Phase two. Each children was then able to vote for the most, eco-friendly, creative and money making idea. It was a great opportunity for children to show off their skills.

English
This week in English we started our new unit; recounts. We discussed different types of recounts and identified all the features that they have in common. 4B were able to identify many language and structural features. We then wrote our own recount of our journey to school. 4B were given the challenge of adding as much detail as possible to their recount to ensure that the reader has the best picture in their mind.
