Our learning
We have had a busy couple of weeks of learning starting off with our new topic 'Adventurers and Explorers'. We kicked off with an exciting treasure hunt around yhe school. The kids have loved researching and finding out about different explorers such as Christopher Colombus and Neil Armstrong. They have also learnt the difference between a primary and secondary source.
In English we have focused on information texts. The children first practised how to group their sentences into paragraphs. They also researched and planned their own information text by making concise notes.
In Science we have started to learn about electricity. To begin with the children predicted if different circuits would work and then tested out their prediction.
The have also learnt about electrical safety and carried out an investigation about conductors and insulators.
World Book Day
It was lovely to finish off the week with World Book Day. It was great to see the effort that you and the children had put in to their costumes.
Star of the Week
Our star this week is Faranak. She has been working really hard; particularly in English and Topic. It's been lovely to see her take a real active role in her own learning.
Last week's star was Su. She has been trying her very best in English and did some fantastic work on paragraphs.
Well done girls!
Bug Club
The children have all tested out their logins and passwords and have all managed to access the books I have chosen for them to read. Please encourage your children to go onto bug club and read the books, completing the comprehension activities as they go. The children should be reading at least 3 books a week whether it be on bug club or their class reader.
Thank you for your support.
