Our Learning
In English we have been learning about persuasive texts. Last week the children learnt about the features which include rhetorical questions, emotive language, exaggeration and facts. The children then wrote a piece about deforestation and why it should not happen. They then spent time editing and uplevelling their work. This week the children have looked at a range of persuasive text then planned and wrote a letter to Miss McKeever, trying to convince her not to cancel PE!
In Science, the children have continued to learn about plants. Last week we focused on the job of the stem and had great fun looking about some celery that had been left in food colouring. This week we've studied the parts of the flower and learnt about the process of pollination.
It's been lovely to see all the effort that has gone into the Science home learning. The children were so excited the see their plants begin to grow.
During our topic we have been learning about deforestation and also practising for our a class assembly. We hope you enjoyed it!
