International day 2014
Wow what a day! Today was such a wonderful experience with JPS celebrating more than 100 nationalities. Dressed in our finery we kick started the day with a fantastic display of all of our traditional dances and songs. The children were phenomenal show casing their talents in front of such a huge crowd.
In class we have been spending time finding out about each other's cultures and where in the world we come from. We also each created a flag of our home country to display in our classroom.
Then we toured the copious stalls around school sampling food, music and national dress. It was delicious!
A huge thanks to everyone who made today such a huge success. It was enjoyed by all!
Sing and Swing
This week we also had special performances from our school choir during the sing and swing concert. It is wonderful to see just how much talent there is at JPS!
Also this week
We have been learning about dilemma texts in English this week and re-writing stories from a different character's point of view. Ask us all about the dilemma faced in the story Sam's duck.
In topic this week we continued our topic of earthquakes and volcanoes by learning all about how to prepare for an earthquake. We have also been designing our own volcanoes which we plan to build next week.
