This weekThis week in English we began another new topic looking at stories from other cultures. We read a story from South America called "Ampata and the scarlet macaws" where we learnt about one girl's selfless acts to save her brothers and the king's son. This week in topic we began designing our very own mars rover robots. First we had to research the terrain and climate of mars to see what our robots would be up against. Then we had to think about the jobs our robots would have to do there; like collect samples, take pictures and look for signs of life. Finally we designed our robots and have come up with a list of resources we will need to build them Star of the Week | This week in Science we have continued our learning about electricity by exploring static electricity. We learnt that two objects are charged and when they are rubbed together they form static electricity. We used this static electricity pick up pieces of paper and even created a remote control roller! RememberDon't forget to collect your recyclable objects ready to build your mars rover on Monday! Parents if you would like to come in and help on Monday - please let Mrs. Quinn know if you can attend by responded the email sent today (Thursday). Home Learning - Maths NoticePlease note that optional MyMaths home learning has been added to MyMaths for those who would like additional practice.
