National DayThis week - the excitement for International Day built up slowly and today exploded as our children burst into class this morning with such beaming faces. The effort shown in the outfits worn by all today were truly amazing - so much colour. Our children were amazing during the performances - a great audience as our very own Layal (right) performed on stage with her Egyptian friends! |

This week in class, within English we studied 'Dilemmas', hence our home learning this week is linked to our English topic. Our children produced a wonderful piece of writing from the viewpoint of the character called Sam - based upon the Michael Morpurgo book 'Sam's Duck'...Why not ask your child to retell the story?
In Maths, this week in year four week continued to look at fractions. One top tip to start discussion that can also be a treat...why not buy yourself a bar of chocolate and use the squares to discuss fractions! Mrs. Quinn and I found the video below a good way of reviewing equivalent fractions - it always helps to look towards youtube when you would like to find a quick away to explain a concept. The video gives children the opportunity to watch the explanation more than once so here you go...
