4G have worked hard this week and impressed us in their learning. It has been a week of poetry within English. It was so pleasing to see the enthusiasm shown at home to find poems that the children enjoyed - this week the home learning is to perform poetry. This is all about using expression and enjoying performing - it would be wonderful if the children could involve family members or friends in the performance...
I know that Layal is going to involve her dog! While a group of boys will be performing together! Stay tuned and we will share videos of the children performing next week. The main thing is to have some fun with it and do our best to use expression/perform...for some children this is a natural stage, for others, not so much. Therefore, making it fun would be a good way to approach the learning...

Here are so excellent examples of poetry performances...
Next week
Within English next week we will be studying Kenning Poems. These poems are short, fun and require some imaginative language to stand out from the crowd.
This is not home learning but if you would like to work with your children or discuss these poems it would be a good head start for next week. They are really fun - you can easily make one up about a family member for a few giggles at home...

Yousef is one of our stars of the week this week! He has shown such wonderful enthusiasm regarding his poetry home learning. We are proud of his efforts this week in our Maths class where he has impressed with his decimal work. | Grace has worked fantastically well in Science this week - really impressing us in the lab before assembly. Grace is always happy in class and loves break into dance in the middle of a lesson...this is another reason why she is a star this week! |
