| Our Final week of the term! I cannot believe it is our final week of the term... it really doesn't seem long since I was nervously first setting foot in the 4F classroom! What a fantastic first term we have had together too! This week has been somewhat of an art extravaganza. Parrots, tigers and artists: This week started of very messily. Not only were the children using papier mache to create their tropical birds, but also we then had some very brave (maybe even foolish, I can't decide) parent volunteers who came in and helped to decorate them. We had paint, feathers and tissue paper everywhere but the end result was definitely worth all the mess. I would like to thank the parent helpers who did a fantastic job, without them the project would not have been as successful as it was. I have included some pictures of the process and the finished products for you to see. We had a great morning -Thanks to all involved! The children also used their drawing skills to produce some lovely rainforest themed pictures of tigers. They learnt about perspective, using different media and creating texture to produce their final pieces. They look wonderful and will be a vibrant addition to our Arts Festival display. Festive Fun: And finally to round off a fantastic term we had our end of term festive celebration, where children brought in a selection of food and games to play and we enjoyed celebrating the holidays. There was even a special visit from Santa Clause who came to JPS for the day! Finally... I would like to say a big thank you to all the children and parents for a wonderful first term here at JPS. You have all made me feel so welcome and have been very supportive with our projects and our learning journey so far. The children have been a delight to teach and I look forward to my next term with them. And finally thank you for all of the Christmas cards and gifts that I have received, very generous of you! Have a lovely holiday and I will see you all again in January. |
