An unusual week we have had this week! We started off with a magical musical performance from Year 4 on Monday! (Please look at the Year 4 homepage if you would like to see it again, or missed it the first time). I was lucky enough to see it first hand and was very impressed! What a talented year group, and music department we have! Finally, we ended the week with another special event, World Book day.
English:
In our English sessions this week, the children have been researching animals and learning to take notes with a view to creating their own information text about the animal. We have put into practice what we have learnt about paragraph structure to create some fantastic 'sandwich' paragraphs! I look forward to reading the real things next week.
Science:
This week we investigated circuits, the children were given a series of cards showing possible ways of combining light bulbs, wires, cells, motors and buzzers. The children had to investigate which circuits would work. That way we learnt what was necessary for a complete circuit. We had lots of fun -especially with the buzzers!
Topic:
"That's one small step for man..." This week, the children have been using secondary sources to explore the life and achievements of Neil Armstrong and the Apollo 11 mission. They have been reading about his life, watching videos of the moon landing and are starting to put together their information to create a Newspaper article from the day.
World Book Day!
WOW, what awesome costumes we had in 4F, Cat in the Hat, Millionaire Boy, Captain Hook, Matilda and Alice in Wonderland to name but a few. Can you spot any others among our photographs?
